Railey Realty co-owner and Associate Broker Bill Weissgerber was recently inducted into the Southern Garrett High School Alumni Hall of Fame! Bill joins a very distinguished group, as the SGHS Alumni Hall of Fame only includes seven other people. Bill graduated from Southern in 1976, but not before leaving an actual ‘stamp’ on the school. Bill is credited with painting the first Ram on the center of the basketball court during his years as a student.
Bill began his real estate career shortly after graduating at A&A Realty, where he soon became the top earning agent and actually achieved national recognition. In 1992, Bill joined Railey Realty’s sales team…and well, the rest is history.
In addition to his astounding real estate career, Bill has been President of the Garrett County Board of Realtors, is currently on the Board of Directors at Clear Mountain Bank, and was recently elected to the Board of Governors of Garrett Regional Medical Center. Holding these positions has allowed him to stay involved in the community and local organizations at the highest level to oversee important decisions and help shape the future of our community.
Bill also founded and oversees the WGW Community Youth Cup, which has raised more than half a million dollars to support the youth of Garrett County. The 3-day event in June features two days of golf play, a silent auction, 5K color fun run, helicopter golf ball drop, and so much more. Railey Realty is a proud sponsor of this annual event!
Then there’s also basketball, as most of you well know. Bill has been the JV girls basketball coach and an assistant varsity basketball coach for years - including several runs for the state championship and the title in 2014.
We’re very proud of Bill and his recent induction! He’s always been a very influential member of our team and continues to help our company grow and prosper. Congratulations, Bill!
