NFL Players Visiting for Training Camp and Meet & Greet | Deep Creek Lake News

It’s not every day you get to meet and play with NFL stars right here in Garrett County! For the third year in a row, several professional football players will be participating in The Andrew Woods NFL Legend Football Camp at Southern Garrett High School’s football field, sponsored and hosted in part by PMSI. The training camp is open to any youth player from any location! It’s also open to spectators who want to check out the training camp. The training camp will take place Saturday July 13.

This year, organizers added a meet and greet informational kick-off dinner at The Greene Turtle. This event is open to the public, too! Head to the Turtle any time between 6-10 PM Friday July 12 for your chance to meet NFL stars, get autographs, pictures, and more! Drinks and appetizers will also be provided.

Both the kick-off dinner and the training camp are completely free and open to the public. Last year, the training camp had 130 kids registered! This awesome weekend is organized in part by Garrett County native Patty Pierleonardi, Vice President of PMSI (Pest Management Services Incorporated). PMSI is the official pest control partner for several sports organizations, including the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens. Closer to home, PMSI services Garrett County and surrounding areas in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Pierleonardi’s passion for sports and football in particular started during her days at Southern High School, when Friday night football was the place to be, with Coach Tom Woods in charge. Giving back to her community and helping to honor the legacy of Woods’ late son Andrew led her to spearhead this opportunity for the youth of Garrett County.

The athletes coming for the kick-off dinner and training camp include: former Redskins wide receiver and 2-time Superbowl champion Gary Clark ; former Redskins running back and Superbowl champion Reggie Branch; former Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss; former Redskins linebacker and 2-time Superbowl champion Ravin Caldwell; former pro football quarter back Eddie Echols; former Philadelphia Eagles defensive back John Booty; and 2-time All Europe player for the European Football League Patrick Cole.

You can register for the youth training camp here.

We’re very excited to welcome these decorated players to our beautiful area! We’ll see you at the kick-off dinner!
