As part of First Energy Corp’s EV Driven program, new electric vehicle (EV) chargers were installed at the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center. Two fast chargers, capable of charging an electric vehicle to 80% in an hour or less, and one Level 2 charger, which can deliver 8-24 miles per hour of charge, for up to four hours total. These new chargers provide a great, central resource for EV drivers who live in the area and those who travel to Deep Creek Lake. The chargers were installed by Potomac Edison, a division of First Energy Crop. EV chargers have also been installed by Potomac Edison at Garrett College and the Oakland Municipal Town Parking Lot.
