Railey Realty is proud to announce the newest addition to our sales team, Jarrod Harper! As an Allegany County, Maryland, native, Jarrod spent many summers enjoying Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County. His athletic prowess earned him national recognition and a place on the West Virginia Mountaineer Football Team, and eventually a spot on the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team. Already an established and working real estate agent in Morgantown, WV, Jarrod is eager to start his next chapter servicing clients and customers in Deep Creek Lake, Garrett County, and Allegany County. Jarrod was born and raised in nearby Frostburg, Maryland. As a kid, growing up so close to Deep Creek Lake, Jarrod was able to visit often and enjoy all that the lake lifestyle had to offer; from snowboarding in the winter to spending summers on the water. He earned a full athletic scholarship to play football at West Virginia University, lettering in four of his five years while on the team. During his time at WVU, he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Criminology. After college, Jarrod signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team, and made his way down to the sunshine state. After suffering a career ending injury, he moved to Philadelphia to pursue a career in insurance sales. Shortly after, he was given an opportunity to join the West Virginia University football staff, and so, country roads brought Jarrod back to his home away from home in West Virginia.
While he was a graduate assistant coach to the defensive backs for the WVU Football team, Jarrod successfully completed a Masters Degree in Sports Management. Although rewarding, being a coach is a very time intensive career, with many hours away from family and friends. His “love for the game” will always be there, however, being present with family became his ultimate priority. Jarrod has always had a strong passion for real estate and knew he would excel in this career. He has now successfully transitioned from the demanding lifestyle of a college and professional athlete and coach, taking his sales experience and determination into the world of real estate. Jarrod will bring the same enthusiasm, dedication, and excellence he once had on the field, into your home buying and selling experience.
