The Performing Arts Center at Garrett College is officially open! The PAC hosted a special grand opening event in early December that included local and state dignitaries, project managers, donors, and members of the community. The PAC is managed through several local shareholding organizations, including Garrett College, the Garrett County Commissioners, Garrett Lakes Art Festival, Garrett Arts Council, and Garrett County Public Schools. These organizations work together to help manage the performances at the Performing Arts Center. Railey Realty was also proud to help sponsor the Performing Arts Center!
This state of the art facility features a main theatre area with seating for 485 occupants, fully operational sound & lighting systems, dressing rooms, a full catering kitchen, climate controlled storage, rear-bay access for easy loading and unloading, a multipurpose room, and music rooms! The main lobby features collections from local artists that will be regularly updated to feature a variety of artists and types of art. With 26,000+ sqft of space, this incredible new facility is a much needed addition to our community and will bring countless performers and experiences to Garrett County and Deep Creek Lake. Garrett County was the only county in the entire state of Maryland that did not have a dedicated performing arts center. Moving forward, the majority of all local school and college productions will take place at the Performing Arts Center. The multi-purpose room is sub-dividable and features drop-down screens, which lends itself to conferences or lectures. It's also a fantastic space for a wedding reception or large event!
